Newport Beach
Newport is one of the longer, more family-friendly beaches on this stretch of coast — wide, well-patrolled, and an easy spot to learn to surf without getting in anyone’s way. Barrenjoey Road runs straight through the middle of the village, with cafes and a proper Sunday-morning buzz along it.
On the Pittwater side, the Newport Hotel is the local institution — a waterside pub that’s been the meeting point for this suburb for generations, with views out over the moored boats. Between the ocean beach and the calm water on the western side, Newport has a bit of both worlds, which is part of why it’s one of the more popular suburbs for families settling in rather than just visiting.
